Sometimes you just need a rod that can handle whatever the weekend throws at it, whether that's soaking baits off the beach, chasing snapper and trevally in the estuary, dropping a bait down on a reef, or heading out with the family for a day on the water. That's exactly where the Shimano Taipan range comes in, offering a dependable, hard-wearing series built for everyday Kiwi fishing. The expanded 30-model lineup covers spin, baitcast, overhead, and surf spin configurations, with more two-piece options than ever for effortless travel and storage. At its core, Shimano's integrated graphite blank construction delivers a lighter, more responsive feel over traditional fibreglass without sacrificing toughness, helping you feel every subtle bite. Outfitted with reliable Fuji O-Ring guides for smooth mono or braid line flow, custom EVA grips, and sleek updated cosmetics, the new Taipan delivers versatility, durability, and trusted performance for New Zealand anglers who want a rod that simply gets the job done.
